A Museum Artwork is on view

  • Institute for the Study of the Ancient World 15 East 84th Street New York, NY, 10028 United States (map)

In July, a museum artwork“Untitled” (Public Opinion), 1991 by Felix Gonzalez-Torres, will be on view at the Institute for the Study of the Ancient World. The artwork, which is part of the permanent collection of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, consists of a large quantity of individually wrapped licorice candies, which are poured directly on the floor, usually in a pile or flat rectangle, and available for viewers to take and eat. Visit ISAW to view the architecturally responsive installation of the artwork and see how it is being uniquely interpreted through the lens of the ancient world.
